Advancing Investigational
Photo Neuromodulation for Parkinson’s Disease
Celeste® is an investigational device being studied to better understand the role of retinal and circadian signaling pathways in Parkinson’s disease.
Addressing Major Unmet Needs
in Parkinson’s Disease
Parkinson’s disease affects more than 11 million people worldwide, a number expected to grow significantly in the coming decades. While advances in symptom management have helped many people live longer and more active lives, substantial unmet needs remain.
Many individuals living with Parkinson’s disease experience challenges that extend beyond movement, including sleep disturbances, fatigue, mood changes, cognitive difficulties, and disruptions to daily life. These symptoms can significantly impact independence, wellbeing, and overall quality of life.
PhotoPharmics was founded to explore whether targeted light-based interventions may influence biological pathways involved in neurological function. The company’s research focuses on the relationship between light-responsive retinal pathways, circadian biology, and the brain.
Celeste® is an investigational photo-neuromodulation device being evaluated for Parkinson’s disease. Through a series of clinical studies, PhotoPharmics has explored the potential role of this approach in addressing important unmet needs within the Parkinson’s community.
We are grateful to the participants, caregivers, investigators, researchers, and advocates who have contributed to this work and invite you to follow our ongoing scientific and regulatory journey.
